Dark Artsy Bits
Something about Halloween puts me in the mood for the darker side of art. I guess the transition of seasons, the big earthy mood swing. Lately I’ve noticed lots of "indie blogger artists" popping up... I have to say; sometimes I am really blown away. So, in light of Halloween, and the seasons shift I give you these dark artsy bits.
Esao Andrews - http://nnm.ru/blogs/horror1017/esao_andrews/ -- Seriously.
This really sets the mood for darkness.
And I’m not talking gross-ness. I’m talking a little off center, really cool to look at.
Alexanderos Vasmoulakis -
http://www.textureculture.com/alexandros-vasmoulakis/ at first I have to say I did not like this guy.
I thought his work was strange. Sometimes overtime people grow on you. The link shown is to pieces from his exhibit in last year called "High Ho, Here We Go Ever So High". Even though he isn’t my favorite I dig his whole, gloomy exaggeration bold vibe.
Besides art, lately something making leaps in the dark artsy genre is video gaming. Have to tell you-- The Red Dead Redemption- Undead Nightmare adds on are pretty AWESOME. It’s an add on (and you know how I love those) to the video game Red Dead Redemption. If you haven't heard of it, check it out here: http://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption/
-and you can watch a trailer for the add on here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep0ZLhbKnms .
Have a wonderful week, try to get out there and enjoy some of this beautiful color shifting while it lasts.
