Tag, You're It
My new favorite thing to look at and read about is street art and graffiti. Personally its like planting beautiful flowers through out cities. It goes beyond your old school murals or tags and I can not believe how much trouble some artists can and do get into over simple, and beautiful self expression. I understand property damage, but somethings really don’t hurt to be covered in art. Its our world, with a big fat smile I say lets decorate it!!! (Another great reason I should be president)
Artistic Evolution
I overheard a woman openly bashing digital art the other day. She said it was a talentless and pointless. Besides thinking she was ignorant, I had this light bulb moment. Art has evolved. We have left the older generations behind. If we look back, throughout history- This has occurred repeatedly. Not just with art, but with music.
All around us we evolve and leave behind the people who don’t understand societys growth as a whole. Self expression is easier than its ever been. Sure maybe fine arts has fallen out of the limelight but there are still people, artists- souls that practice the trade. Visionaries of all kinds. I don’t believe the evolution is in the media used- rather I believe it is in the broadness of interpretation. Its becoming more and more acceptable to express anything you have the urge to - in nearly any way.
Holiday Reminders and Notions
It’s that time of year. All craziness is shining through. Each year, as I grow older and my roles change in life, this time of year gets busier and crazier for me.
There is just so much around us to look at. Seasons changing, the trees almost looking on fire and soon trees and yards will be covered in Christmas decorations…Giant inflatable snow globes with little Rudolph’s inside… With so much chaos, I think maybe we have forgotten what the heart of the holiday season is all about.
Dark Artsy Bits
Something about Halloween puts me in the mood for the darker side of art. I guess the transition of seasons, the big earthy mood swing. Lately I’ve noticed lots of "indie blogger artists" popping up... I have to say; sometimes I am really blown away. So, in light of Halloween, and the seasons shift I give you these dark artsy bits.

Inside An Artist's Mind
My not so little - Introduction (kinda): My name is Nicole Slusher. I am an artist, a mother, a tattoo artist, a blogger... I am many things - all rolled into one. Sometimes you cant introduce a person with words. I find the best way to get to know someone is to look at what things they surround themselves with. So today I would like to share with you- the four most important websites bookmarked in my browser. Not in any specific order, because they are all equally awesome and valuable.
